Fluid Coils

Types W and C provide fluid coils with multiple continuous serpentine circuits. Full-size tube return bends are used to minimize fluid friction and headers are correctly sized for each application to provide uniform distribution to all coil circuits. Each type W connection also has bent or drain plugs. Standard coils have copper headers, a return bend and tubes, and are designed for operating temperatures up to 375 degrees Fahrenheit, and pressures up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Special construction for higher pressures and temperatures can be furnished upon request.

Steam Coils

Type S standard steam coils are economical, general-purpose heating coils for commercial and industrial heating applications. When mounted vertically with tubes, they can be used with entering air temperatures below freezing. Coils are provided with tubes pitched in the casing for horizontal air flow only. For vertical flow, coils must be installed on a minimum pitch of one-fourth inch per foot of tube length. Air can flow in either direction through these coils, which feature copper headers and tubes, and are designed for steam pressure up to 200 psig. Ask about special construction for higher temperatures or pressures.

Parts of Coil

Type D distributing steam coils are constructed with orificed inner steam distributing tubes centered and supported to provide uniform steam distribution. This design prevents freezing of the condensate, provided a sufficient amount of steam is supplied to the coil and water is removed by proper trapping as fast as it is condensed. These coils are provided with tubes pitched in the casting for horizontal air flow only. For vertical flow, coils must be installed and pitched a minimum of one-fourth inch per foot of tube length. Air flow through these coils can go in either direction, and headers are selected for each application to provide uniform steam distribution to all tubes. Standard coils have copper headers and tubes, designed to operate at pressures up to 150 psig. Ask about special construction for higher temperatures and pressures.


Refrigerant Coils

Type E direct expansion coils are equipped with refrigerant distributors and suction gas headers correctly sized to provide uniform distribution and proper refrigerant velocities to all coil circuits. Thermal expansion valves are optional. Type E coils are dehydrated, charged with dry inert gas or refrigerant, and sealed. Standard coils have copper headers, return bends, and tubes with brass distributors, but special materials can be furnished upon request.

Booster Coils

These are duct-mounted reheat coils are used in many general heating applications. Booster coils are provided with a variety of casing configurations as well, including fully flanged, slip and drive, or end plates only.
